VIP protection & cargo security, discreet cover when it counts

The back-end of the year brings a lot of pressure to businesses. Executives travel more, product launches stack up, and high-value stock moves between factories and stores. Stonewall Security provides SIA-licensed protection for specialist cargo and asset security across the Midlands, delivered quietly and precisely so operations stay on track.

Whether you are moving jewellery, electronics, pharmaceuticals or sensitive documents, threat levels rise as volumes and visibility increase. Here is how we plan, layer and verify every step.

What professional cargo and asset security includes

Cargo security protects goods against theft, tampering and loss, in storage and on the road. It combines people, process and technology:

• Risk profiling: Assessing commodity type, route exposure, timings, choke points and recent incident data
• Route planning: Primary and contingency routes with controlled stop points to reduce predictability
• Vehicle technology: Cameras and/or GPS tracking with geofencing and panic alerts linked to our control room
• Secure handovers: Identity checks, sealed consignments and time-stamped proof of custody
• Driver reporting: Scheduled check-ins, welfare checks and post-move debriefs
• Escalation: Pre-agreed triggers for supervisor intervention, patrol intercepts, police notification or diversion to a safe haven

These controls range from low-profile escorts on routine runs to high-visibility deterrence for elevated-risk moves.

Close protection vs asset escorts: what’s the difference?

Close protection safeguards a person. It is discreet. SIA-licensed VIP security built around personal safety, movement planning, venue liaison and media-aware travel, with routes and timings designed around the principal’s schedule.

Asset escorts safeguard goods. The consignment is the protected asset. So the focus is load security, custody, vehicle integrity and timing discipline. Teams can be covert or overt, vehicle-based or on foot at loading bays.

The two often combine when a VIP travels with high-value samples or IP-sensitive materials. Find out more about our VIP personal security and asset protection service.

In-depot and in-transit controls

Security should start before the wheels turn.

• In the depot: Monitored CCTV in loading bays and yards, restricted access lists, seal checks and timed mobile patrols.
• In transit: Vehicle search and seal verification, covert tracking beacons on pallets or cages, no-stop windows after departure and dynamic rerouting if risk indicators change.

Tracking, evidence and escalation that cut risk and cost

GPS tracking, vehicle cameras and disciplined reporting do more than deter. They create defensible evidence which reap a lot of benefits:

• Faster decisions: Control room oversight and geofence alerts allow early intervention
• Insurance resilience: Time-stamped routes and custody logs support claims and reduce disputes
• Operational learning: Post-journey data highlights risky windows and weak handover points so service is always improving.
• Cost control: Fewer losses and less investigation time typically offset security spend.
